fatloss4idiotsMany times people are in search of an all-in-one diet that will tell them how to do everything. While there are some diets that will accomplish something close to this, it is better to combine a bunch of methods, and use them in conjunction with one another. The following is a short list of tips, that can be used with any diet.

Always eat something in the morning when you wake up. The old saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is indeed true. Without a healthy breakfast, you will feel drained for the rest of the day, and your metabolism will not operate the way it is supposed to. Plus you won’t have enough energy to get the most out of your exercises.

Try not to “snack” on things while your watching the television. Often times people who watch television a lot, tend to eat more than people who do not. Probably because they have built an association in their mind with enjoying a meal and watching a show. Reading a book is a better way to entertain yourself anyway. Reading actually burns calories, and needless to say you’ll learn a lot more in a book than you will from the television.

Try not to hang out with your friends constantly. Peer pressure often leads people to break their diets. I’m not saying don’t have friends, I’m just saying you should limit the amount of time you spend with them and try not to be around them when they order a delicious pizza.

DO NOT drink alcohol excessively. Alcohol is high in calories, calories that you won’t feel like burning with a hangover. Not to mention being drunk could cause you to make some poor decisions, and I’m not just talking about dieting decisions either.

Try to eat a small appetizer before your meals, a brothy soup is the best one to pick. This will most likely make you feel full and keep you from eating your entire meal, then you can just save it for later and snack on it when you get home in increments.

Eat your food slowly and chew your food thoroughly, this will help your stomach digest the food better and it keeps you from eating too much in one sitting. Plus you can trick yourself into thinking you are full if you eat slower and give the food time to settle.

Try to use pans that are non-stick, that way you don’t have to use a lot of butter/oil, this will keep your fat intake low. Also it is best to use oil rather than butter, no matter what you’re cooking. You may like butter but oil is less fattening by far.

The last tip that I’m sure you have heard a million times, is to drink lots of water. This tip is actually one of the most crucial tips, and if you don’t use any of the tips I just gave you, you should use this one. Even if you are not trying to lose weight I would recommend you to drink 6-8 cups of water a day.
